Planning a Visit
Cost:
School visits, excluding Science and Technology Days, are £3.50 per pupil. One supervising adult to every 10 pupils is free of charge, additional adults are £6.50 each. There is no additional cost for workshops and activities run by the Education Officer.
Facilities:
Health and Safety:
A general risk assessment covering all public areas of the museum will be sent to schools prior to visit. Activities run by the museum and Madflaps are fully risk assessed. Teachers are expected to also do their own risk assessment during their free pre visit.
Booking a Visit:
If you would like to book a visit please call the Education Officer on 01264 784421, or email education@flying-museum.org.uk To book:
1. Contact the Education Officer to discuss your needs and to clarify any points.
2. If you agree a date for your visit you will be provisionally added to our Diary. The Education Officer will also ask you to book a date for your free pre-visit to the museum.This is necessary for Health and Safety and your own orientation.
3. You will be sent a booking form, which you must complete, sign, date and return to the Education Officer.
4. Once we receive your booking form you will be sent a Teachers' Pack and your booking will be confirmed.
5. If you wish to cancel the booking and fail to give the museum at least 7 days notice the school may be charged up to 40% of the quoted cost.
Preliminary VisitIt is strongly advised that teachers find time to visit the museum prior to the school visit. Please contact the education officer on 01264 784421. If the education officer is not available please advise reception staff when you will be visiting the museum.
